NOTE: This workshop is intended for artists with advanced study or practical experience in their fields. It is open to actors, dancers, directors, designers and any other artists who wish to explore new methods of collaborative creation.

Viewpoints is an improvisation technique that provides a vocabulary for movement and gesture. It allows a group of actors to function together spontaneously and intuitively, and to generate bold theatrical work. It develops flexibility, articulation and strength in movement, and addresses essential performance concepts: active listening, trust, kinesthetic response, shared energy and spatial relationships.
Viewpoints grew out of the post-modern dance world. It was first articulated by choreographer Mary Overlie and subsequently developed by Anne Bogart in the Experimental Theatre Wing of New York University and later with the artists of the SITI Company in New York City. The Viewpoints technique has become a dominant form of actor training in the United States.
Rita Bozi is a Consultant Facilitator of Three In One Concepts, actor, writer, travel columnist for CBC Radio and a graduate of the National Ballet School, who has worked extensively in dance, theatre and film. She has studied with The SITI Company, the foremost teachers of the Viewpoints Technique for theatre. She has previously taught Viewpoints courses at Mount Royal University in Calgary.

“Rita is a phenomenal instructor. Every class is a wealth of valuable and important information.”
“I’ve learned a lot from [Rita] about following my impulses and taking risks. I used to allow other people to go first, to show me how things are done. [Rita’s] class is the first time I’ve ever done anything first.”
“She teaches us not just how to understand our body in movement, but our mind, heart and soul.”
