Have you ever wanted to abandon the stage and perform on a rooftop? In a freight elevator, a forest, a café or a museum?

Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre's Co-Artistic Directors, Mark Hopkins and Charles Netto, have been working in the realm of site-specific creation for 5 years. They've wrangled with bylaws, bailed out a flooded basement with a bucket, negotiated with well-intentioned police officers and created performances in a warehouse, a church, a gas station, art galleries, nightclubs and the Lodge Hall in Vulcan, Alberta.

In this workshop, you'll learn about the challenges and opportunities of working outside the theatre, and gain techniques to help create original work in peculiar spaces.
