i-ROBOT UnpluggedRobot theatre, performed in a historic Mount Royal homeOctober 21, 6:00-10:00 pm Step into a 100-year-old house to experience a theatrical world of robots! Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre presents i-ROBOT Unplugged, starring quirky household robots and the deranged denizens of a robot insane asylum. Over the course of 9 self-contained scenes, you'll meet a misbehaving television, a morose i-Pod, a manic Sanitation-Bot and many other fantastical robotic characters. Each scene will take place in a different room of the John Snow House, a historic home in Mount Royal operated by The New Gallery, inviting audiences to freely wander through the house and encounter robots in surprising locations. i-ROBOT Unplugged emerges from Swallow-a-Bicycle's most recent Calgary production, i-ROBOT Theatre, which was originally meant to be performed in a 10,000 square foot warehouse. When it was adapted for a tiny 50-seat theatre, the script changed dramatically and several great scenes were lost... until now.
