Book Launch: Clockfire
& The Semiconducting Dictionary (Our Strindberg)

Poetry collides with theatre and music in this exciting multi-arts evening!
Jonathan Ball’s Clockfire is a suite of poetic blueprints for imaginary plays that would be impossible to produce – plays in which, for example, the director burns out the sun, actors murder their audience or the laws of physics are ignored.
Natalee Caple’s The Semiconducting Dictionary (Our Strindberg) is a playful re-visioning of the life of notorious misogynist and modern drama master August Strindberg.
In honour of the books’ publication, Coach House Books and ECW Press are hosting a night of theatrics. Not only will there be readings from the authors, but Calgary’s own Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre will interpret poems from both books. Rounding out the evening, The Huntress and the Ogden Owls will provide music, in part inspired by both books. |
