Help i-ROBOT Theatre find a home!

Spring 2011
Calgary, Alberta
Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre is seeking a non-traditional venue for its production of i-ROBOT Theatre in Spring 2011.

i-ROBOT Theatre was originally designed to be performed in the Seafood Market in East Village. For a variety of reasons, that venue is no longer available and Swallow-a-Bicycle is now in search of an appropriate alternate venue.

This play does not need to take place in a fully-equipped theatre. We will happily consider warehouse, retail or other spaces. Whether you're the proprietor of a church, a bank, a gas station, a shoe store or something completely unexpected, we would love to hear from you. You never know what kind of space will suit our purposes!

The ideal venue will:

  • be available for 2-6 weeks between March-May 2011;
  • be available for exclusive use (i.e. otherwise unoccupied during the rental period);
  • be between 1,500-10,000 square feet;
  • contain a mix of large and small spaces (i.e. warehouse and office space);
  • be able to safely and legally host a public, paid audience;
  • have operational heating/air conditioning, electricity and running water; and
  • have an arts-friendly owner/manager who is eager to host an exciting theatre production in their venue.
If you own a space that fits these criteria, or if you know of a prospective venue worth investigating, please contact Mark Hopkins at mark@swallowabicycle.com or 403.710.0093.
